About Conception:
Choreograph your own path.
Reimagined as a hybrid program, Conception now guides dancers through an immersive process that begins online and culminates in an intimate in-person retreat and filming experience in Joshua Tree.
During the online sessions, dancers will share their works-in-progress and receive structured feedback to help shape a strong outline for their piece. By the time we gather in person, you’ll arrive with a clear foundation—ready to refine, expand, and bring your choreography to life on camera.
With space for only 7 dancers, this retreat offers a uniquely supportive and personalized environment.

Develop tools for building original choreography—from concept and structure to refinement and performance. You’ll leave with a fully realized solo (or the strong framework for one) and the confidence to present it.

Conception fosters a safe, intimate space for exploration, risk-taking, and collaboration with like-minded dancers.
Program Schedule

Online Classes (via Zoom): Sunday, November 2 & November 23 | 9:00am–12:00pm PST
Classes are recorded if you cannot make it live. -
In-Person Retreat in Joshua Tree, CA: December 5–8
• Workshops, guided exercises, and feedback sessions to refine your piece
• Filming Day: Monday, December 8 — choose between studio lighting or outdoor locations. All dancers receive their footage, with optional editing services available.
Professional Filming in 4K
Kami will personally film your piece in stunning 4K quality, guiding you through the process with direction and support to ensure your choreography is captured at its best.
Dancers will receive all of their footage, with optional editing services available.
Pricing and Room Options:
Includes both online sessions, 4 days / 3 nights stay in Joshua Tree, and filming of your piece.
Payment plans available.
A $300 deposit secures your spot. Payment options and additional details will be provided upon registration.
Twin Sized Bunk Bed: $850
The most affordable option. Share with a room with up to 3 others
Double Bed: $1,100
A sweet litte room to yourself
with a double bed.
King Bed:
$1,300 (single occupancy)
or $950 each (shared)
The large primary bedroom offers mountain views of the sunset, a king bed, as well as a seating area and full, private bathroom. Please note: The shared King option is available only if you book together with a friend.
About the house:
This adorable house has a private yoga/dance studio with panoramic mountain views, a hot tub to soak under desert stars, multiple backyard offers hammocks, a fire pit, and wide-open desert skies—just minutes from Joshua Tree National Park. A perfect balance of creativity and relaxation.

What's the refund policy?
All sales are final and not transferable to another course. While there are no refunds on tuition, it is possible to transfer your spot to another dancer.
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
If you are not able to attend you may sell your spot to another student. Selling or transferring your spot is your responsibility. To sell your spot, please first email krysalisdance@gmail.com. If there is a waitlist, you will be connected with the first student on the waitlist to manage payment* for the spot together. If there is no waitlist, you may seek out other students to purchase your spot. Once the spot has been purchased, please send an email confirming you have received the payment and are officially transferring your spot to krysalisdance@gmail.com, ccing the new student. All accommodations will be made for transfers up to 10 days before the first day of the course.
*Note: Transfer payments are the responsibility of the student selling their spot.
